Run for Hunger registration open

ELMHURST – Registration is open for the 8th Annual Run for Hunger, which will be next month.

Recreational runners, competitive runners, individuals and families are all welcome to participate in the USATF-certified race.

The Run for Hunger benefits the Elmhurst/Yorkfield Food Pantry at 1099 S. York Road. Operated by Yorkfield Presbyterian Church in Elmhurst, Disciples Food Pantry in Villa Park, Hand and Hand Food Pantry in Lombard, and Community Table in Lombard.

Participants are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food donation on race day.

The 5K run starts at 8 a.m. July 20. A kids half-mile fun run takes off at 8:45 a.m. Awards for both men and women are given out in 10 age categories.

Registration for the 5K is $25 or $23 for Chicago Area Runners Association members. Registration is $10 for the Kids half mile Fun Run. The first 400 Run for Hunger pre-registrants receive a custom T-shirt.
