Two women arrested for retail theft, charged with multiple offenses

Two women were arrested Wednesday and later charged with multiple offenses after Woodstock Police responded to a report of thievery at Wal-Mart.

The incident began when Woodstock Police were dispatched around 2:45 p.m. to Wal-Mart, 1275 Lake Ave, Woodstock.

Two women, who had a small child with them, were arrested and later charged with multiple offenses, according to Woodstock deputy chief John Liebs.

Sheena Rodriguez, 21, of McHenry was charged with retail theft, a Class 3 felony; aggravated fleeing and alluding, a Class 4 felony; reckless endangerment of a child and driving with a suspended license, both Class A misdemeanors.

Megan Dunn, 24, of Chicago was charged with retail theft and endangerment of a child, as well as resisting an officer, a Class A misdemeanor.

While responding, an officer spotted a vehicle that matched the offender's description and tried to make a traffic stop.

When the vehicle, driven by Rodriguez, failed to stop, Liebs said the officer initiated a pursuit, then terminated it as the situation did not call for a pursuit according to police policies.

Having seen her turn onto Irving Ave. in McHenry, the officer was able to arrest her at the Autumnwood Apartments off of McHenry Ave.

Dunn, who was left behind when Rodriguez left Walmart, was arrested separately after being met by two detectives.

The status of the two women is unknown at this time.
