CAROL STREAM – The Western DuPage Special Recreation Association (WDSRA) will host its Charlie Long/WDSRA golf classic Monday at Arrowhead Golf Course in Wheaton.

Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., and the shotgun start is at 1 p.m. The cost is $170 per golfer.

The event will include 18 holes with a cart, contest hole prizes, silent auction and raffle prizes, on-course refreshments, lunch/dinner and awards.

The dinner-only option is $50 per person, which includes a donation to the association. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m.

The classic is intended to increase awareness and funds for WDSRA programs and services. With these funds, the association is able to provide a variety of programs for people with special needs, including camps, sports and art programs, adapted sports teams and inclusion services in member park district classes.

The association allows the more than 4,500 children, teens and adults served to grow personally, connect with their community and discover their potential, an organization newsletter stated.
