ELMHURST – Fitz's Spare Keys in Elmhurst will host a fundraiser to support treatments and finding a cure for Rett Syndrome, a neurological disorder that almost exclusively affects girls.

Proceeds from the charity event will benefit Girl Power 2 Cure, a nonprofit dedicated to finding a cure for the disorder caused by a gene mutation. Girls born with Rett Syndrome often begin to lose acquired skills between 1 and 3 years of age.

The event includes bowling, hors d'oeuvres, specialty drinks, an open bar until 10 p.m., a silent auction, raffle and live music.

Tickets cost $75 and are available at www.gp2c.org/strikeoutrett.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. June 21 at Fitz's Spare Keys, 119 North York St.
