Lombard to host open house for Metra underpass project

LOMBARD – The village of Lombard will partner with Metra, Union Pacific Railroad and John Burns Construction for a joint open house to give the community a chance to learn and provide feedback on the pedestrian underpass project at the Lombard Metra Station.

The open house will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 25 in the community room at the Helen Plum Memorial Library, 110 W. Maple St. The event is free and open to the public.

Pre-construction activities for the project are slated to begin the week of June 30, and include the placement of traffic control devices, construction staking and utility locates.

Construction activity will begin the week of July 7.
