Addison man charged after smoking crack while driving in Elmhurst: police

ELMHURST – An Addison man was arrested last week when Elmhurst police allegedly saw him smoking crack cocaine while driving.

Anthony C. Wudi, 42, of the 0 to 100 block of South Iowa Street, Addison, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance at 8:59 p.m. June 6 at Roosevelt Road and Route 83, according to a police report.

After observing Wudi smoking while driving, police stopped him for failing to wear a seat belt, which he was also charged with in addition to disobeying a traffic control device and failure to yield to an authorized emergency vehicle, according to the report.

Wudi was taken into custody and transported to DuPage County Jail.
