Summer is here! And we have an exciting new reading activity at our library called Story Strolls.
Story Strolls combines reading and getting some exercise outside, which is a pretty cool combination. Pages from each of our featured books will be posted along the outdoor path at Bulldog Park, which is just behind our library.
As we read each page, we will also do storytime activities before we move on to the next page. All of the pages read will count for your Summer Reading program goal, too, and the bookmobile will be there to help you sign up for our Summer Reading Program in case you haven’t yet.
Each stroll is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and here are our dates and titles:
• June 16 features the book "Yikes!!" by Robert Florczak
• June 30 features the book "Move!" by Steve Jenkins and Robin Page
• July 14 features the book "Tree-Ring Circus" by Adam Rex
But maybe you are not in the mood for a stroll but would rather see a dog? Maybe a big red dog? Well, we have you covered. Clifford the Big Red Dog will be here on June 28 at 11 a.m. courtesy of our friends from the Barnes & Noble at the Promenade.
Studio 300 had some hot classes in July. Create Business Promo Material on Tuesday, July 1 at 2 p.m. will show you how to create brochures, posters, flyers, newsletters and more. This is part of our Business Tech Tuesday series.
On Monday, July 7 at 7 p.m. Studio 300 will be offering Video Editing Made Easy. You can discover how to arrange videos, add pictures, titles, and music and then share your project online in this hands-on iMovie class.
Please be sure to sign up early for these classes as they fill up fast.
Finally, don’t miss the event of the summer!
We are excited to host our third annual Ice Cream Social sponsored by the Friends of the Library on July 28 from 5 to 8 p.m. The library will be providing ice cream, games, and activities for free.
