CRESTWOOD - With recent MLB draftees Jake Latz and Mike Papierski leading the way, the Lemont baseball team punched its ticket to the first state semifinals in program history with an 11-1 win over De La Salle in the Crestwood Supersectional Monday.

The Indians will take on Metamora Friday at 10 a.m. at Silver Cross Field in Joliet.

Latz pitched five and one-third innings, striking out nine batters while allowing three hits and no earned runs. Charlie Wright came on in relief and finished the sixth frame.

Papierski put Lemont on the board in the first inning with an RBI-single and came across to score on a wild pitch. Nick Wisz also contributed an RBI-hit in the frame.

The Indians broke it open with four runs in the fourth, highlighted by Papierski's RBI double and another RBI-single by Wisz.

Mike Wisz drove in two runs in fifth to make it 10-1.
