Cicero to hold Puerto Rican Day ceremony Thursday

CICERO – The town of Cicero announced it will host a ceremony for Puerto Rican Day on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Cicero Community Center, 2250 S. 49th Ave.

The event is free and open to the public. Guest speakers at the event include State Sen. Iris Martinez (D-Chicago), Cicero chaplain Ismail Vargas and Cicero's Juvenile Intervention Program Director Eddie Lopez. Speakers will discuss their Puerto Rican heritage at the event and the achievements of American's of Puerto Rican descent.

Food and refreshments will be provided.
