Lyons Township High School releases stats on recent graduates

LA GRANGE – A total of 901 graduates walked during Lyons Township High School's 2014 Commencement ceremony June 1.

Of the recent class of 2014 graduates, 64.1 percent are planning to attend a four-year college, 28 percent will attend a two-year college and 5.5 percent are headed to vocational or technical schools or the military. Ultimately, these percents mean that 97.6 percent of the Class of 214 will be continuing their education this coming fall, according to a news release.

With these percents in mind, the former LT students will be spaced out in 184 different colleges or schools in 34 states, as well as locations in Canada, Croatia, Macedonia, Puerto Rico and Singapore.

A total of 66 percent of the graduates are continuing their education at a public university or college, while 24.9 percent plan to attend private institutions, according to the release.

Together, the graduates have earned a total of more than $38 million in scholarship and grant money, with more than $12 million being accepted by students thus far.
