Fire in Clarendon Hills causes $125,000 in damage, one injury

CLARENDON HILLS – The Tri-State Fire District was called at about 5 a.m. Thursday for a single family structure fire with heavy smoke at 5646 Bentley Ave. in Clarendon Hills.

Fire Crews made an interior attack and conducted a primary search confirming that there was no life threat, according to a news release from Tri-State Fire District.

The fire was located in the basement and four occupants were home at the time, one of which was transported to Adventist Hinsdale Hospital for smoke related injuries. The family pet did not survive the incident.

The fire is currently under investigation, but deemed non-suspicious with a $125,000 loss estimated, stated the release.
