BERWYN – Help Hospitalized Veterans (HHV) community-based arts and crafts center invites all Chicago area veterans to usher in the summer by making their own pair of leather moccasins, free of charge.

The workshop will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. June 27 at 6243-B W. 26th St., in Berwyn.

Free moccasin kits, including beads, feathers and paint will be provided. All art and craft kits are free at all HHV locations. Veterans are invited to meet with other veterans for some light refreshments and to learn new crafting skills.

This event will also support veterans in the community that are home-bound or hospitalized by assembling additional moccasins to provide to them. Registration and more information is available at 708-484-9508.

Since 1971, Help Hospitalized Veterans has donated over 29 million therapeutic arts and craft kits to U.S. military veterans receiving health care. For more information on HHV products and services or to locate a community-based arts and crafts center, visit hhv.org.
