Countryside receives 2014 economic development award

COUNTRYSIDE – The city of Countryside, along with five other towns, received a 2014 award for economic development in Illinois.

The Edie Awards, presented by the Illinois Chamber and Illinois Development Council, recognizes significant economic development projects in communities throughout the state.

Countryside was honored in regards to the Countryside City Center. The city took the vacant land between Joliet and La Grange roads, created the center and now more than 90 percent of the property is leased commercial space.
