JOLIET – Joliet West High School Key Club hosted a bean bag tournament fundraiser that raised $500 to benefit Pink Heals on May 20 at the Joliet West Varsity Baseball Field.

During the Joliet West varsity baseball game against Joliet Central, 30 games of bean bags were set up and available for play.

The cost a contestant was $5 and the first place team was awarded a prize. Attendees of the baseball game and tournament wore Joliet West gear and pink clothing to support the school and the cause.

Established in 2007, Pink Heals is a nonprofit organization working to help those battling cancer with a specific focus on women.

The organization raises awareness of the Pink Heals Movement by driving pink fire trucks and police cars across the country.

As a division of Kiwanis Club, Key Club is dedicated to bettering the Joliet community through volunteer work.

The group participates in a variety of activities, from writing cards for people in hospitals to working the prom show at the Spanish Community Center.

The JWHS Key Club is sponsored by Melanie Boseo.
