Tri County SRA’s Day Camp 2014 deadlines are approaching. It’s not too late to get in on summer fun.

Back again this year are activities that have been popular with our campers. Brookfield Zoo Day, Friday, July 18, is a memorable event sponsored by state Rep. Emily McAsey. Campers learn about animals through science-based activities and demonstrations presented by Brookfield Zoo staff members. The zoo also sends a photographer to capture the inspiration and wonder of the day.

Start practicing for your entry in our Summer Talent Show, Wednesday, July 16. Whether you sing, play an instrument, dance or whatever, you can take center stage and show what you can do and enjoy learning what all of your friends talents are, too.

On Wednesday, July 9, sports rule on Olympic Field Day. Join us for a friendly competition between teams that is exciting and gets your body moving.

This year, Tri County SRA is offering “After Camp Adventures,” a chance for campers to extend the time they spend with us on summer days. It will run from 3 to 6 p.m. and will be held at Lemont Park District. Also new this summer is Friday Field Trips, for ages 3 to 12 and 13 to 21.

Check out all the fun that’s in store in the Day Camp brochure and sign up for your faves quickly before they fill up! The brochure is available to view or download from our website, www.tricountysra.org.

Our Summer program guide is also available for download from our website. We have two great parties planned for the summer months that you can enjoy with your family.

Our Family Picnic & Bean Bags was a great time last year and so was the Family Pool Party. Check out the Summer Guide and see if you can join the fun this year.

Speaking of picnics, what’s a picnic without yummy grilled goodies? Teens and adults 16 and older can brush up on their outdoor cooking skills with our “Backyard Grillers” program on Thursdays from June 19 through July 31.

If you enjoy the thrill of outwitting our fishy friends, we are offering “Fishing Adventures,” a new program taking place on Tuesday mornings from June 24 through July 29. Check out the summer guide for way more great ideas to fill the season with good times.

Our annual golf outing and fundraiser is taking place on Thursday, June 28 at Prairie Bluff Public Golf Course in Crest Hill. We are in the process of signing up golfers, so if you have a foursome that’s awesome, why not spend the day with us? There will be lots of prizes raffled off and games on the course, too. If you can help us out by golfing, sponsoring a hole or donating a raffle prize, it would be most appreciated.

If you need or want to accumulate volunteer hours, or if you want to find a way to “give back,” you can make a difference!

We are looking for energetic, dedicated staff and volunteers. Hours are flexible. Training is provided. Benefits are endless. For an application, visit our website www.tricountysra.org.
