District 12 releases survey on where Bush students should go

JOHNSBURG – With James C. Bush Elementary School to be shuttered as part of overall improvements to District 12 facilities, the district is looking for feedback on where the grades currently housed at the school should be located.

A survey has been posted to the district's website.

The results – along with feedback obtained through public forums and meetings with district staff – will be reviewed by the architects hired to design the facility improvements. A summarized report will be provided to the school board so it can make a final decision.

The goal is to have a decision on grade-level configuration by the June 10 board meeting, Superintendent Dan Johnson said.

Third- and fourth-graders currently attend the 65-year-old school.

Two options being considered include moving both grades to Johnsburg Junior High or moving the third-graders to the Ringwood Primary Center and the fourth-graders to the junior high, according to documents prepared by the architecture and design firms.
