DOWNERS GROVE – The Downers Grove Area Branch American Association of University Women will hold its final book collection at 10 a.m. Saturday at Eagle Storage, 555 Rogers St.

The local branch of the Association of University Women has been accumulating books and will hold its annual book sale June 19-21 at Henry Puffer School, 2220 Haddow Ave. Proceeds raised during the book sale are utilized for educational initiatives and scholarships.

Some of the funds will benefit the organization's Back-to-the-Books scholarships, which are awarded every year to students who are returning to school, according to a news release from the Downers Grove Area Branch American Association of University Women.

This year the organization has collected nearly 30,000 paperback, hardcover and curio books, according to the release. The books include mystery, literature, history, sports, romance, and science fiction genres.

Our curio section has more valuable and newer books, some of which are signed by the authors, according to the release.

The pre-sale will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. June 19 at the school, and admission is $5. The general sale will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. June 20, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 21. Admission is free the final two days.
