Glenbard West grad Watt goes in the third round of NFL draft

After starring at Glenbard West and Notre Dame, Chris Watt (middle) was picked by the San Diego Chargers in the third round of the NFL Draft.

A standout at both Glenbard West High School and the University of Notre Dame, Chris Watt heard his name called Friday night in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

The offensive lineman was selected with the 89th pick by the San Diego Chargers. While at Notre Dame, Watt played in 47 games including a stretch of 34 straight starts. He played left offensive guard.

In San Diego, Watt will reunite with former Irish teammate Manti Te'o.

The team's rookie minicamp begins on Friday and goes through the weekend.
