Bike safety essay contest offers bike for first place

ELMHURST – The Superior Ambulance Elmhurst Cycling Classic will award the winner of its essay contest a Trek bike.

The contest is open to fourth and fifth grade students who live in Elmhurst or attend an Elmhurst grade school. The contest is open to students outside of District 205 as well, stated a news release.

Essays must explain what bicycle safety means for Elmhurst and the author. Entrants can visit www.bikesafetyquiz.com for help with their essay.

Essays must be 300 words or less, typed, in 12-point font and turned into the essay contest bin at the student's school by May 23. Entries must also include the student's full name, school and phone number.

Winners will be announced May 30. They will receive prizes and get to ride in the front of the Olympia Chiropractic Family Fun Ride during the cycling classic July 25.
