After losing to Downers Grove North 5-0 Thursday, the Mustangs bounced back with a 7-0 shutout against Kennedy the next day.

Nora Madden scored the only goal in the Friars’ 1-0 win against St. Ignatius on Saturday.

BASEBALL

Nazareth

The Roadrunners picked up two shutouts over the weekend.

Mike Greene pitched four scoreless innings in a 10-0, five-inning win against Latin on Saturday.

Peter Minella pitched five scoreless innings in a 6-0 win against Reavis on Sunday at U.S. Cellular Field.

SOFTBALL

Lyons Township

Kayla Morrissey had two hits, but the Lions fell to conference leader Oak Park-River Forest 7-2 Friday.

Morton

Downers Grove South beat the Mustangs 13-3 Friday.

Nazareth

The Roadrunners were swept by Providence 4-2 and 17-8 in a doubleheader Saturday.

Fenwick

Marian Catholic swept the Friars 12-5 and 8-1 in a doubleheader Saturday.

The Bulldogs went 2-3 at the Downers Grove North Invite.

GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD

Fenwick

Grace Cronin was first in the high jump and the 300-meter hurdles and second in the 100 hurdles at the Trevian Girls Invitational at New Trier on Saturday. Olivia Ryan took second in the 800.

BOYS WATER POLO

Lyons Township

The Lions went 2-2 at a tournament at Stevenson during the weekend with wins against New Trier and Palatine and losses against Naperville Central and Fenwick.

Fenwick

The Friars went 3-1 at Stevenson, losing to Loyola 7-6 and beating Oak Park-River Forest 9-5, Palatine 20-7 and Lyons Township 11-5.

LT defeated Waubonsie Valley 9-6 Thursday.

BOYS TENNIS

Riverside Brookfield

Peter Pribyl Pierdinock was fourth in the singles draw at Brother Rice’s Crusader Classic. RB was sixth out of eight teams.

The Lions placed fourth at the West Suburban Silver meet Saturday.

Erika Sterner won No. 3 singles to help the Bulldogs place fifth at the Independent Conference meet.
