BOLINGBROOK – Police allegedly found 29 baggies of heroin in a couple's house Saturday.

At 2:45 p.m. Robert H. Stafford, 23, and Lakeisha D. Gant, 27, were driving near their home in the 300 block of Kirkwood Circle when they were stopped by police, Lt. Mike Rompa said.

Their blue 2008 Dodge Charger had an expired registration tag and officers found a small amount of marijuana and $630 inside, Rompa said.

Police then executed a search warrant at their address as part of an "ongoing investigation [into] heroin trafficking," Rompa said. Nearly nine grams of heroin was allegedly found during the search.

Stafford, who has served a year in prison on drug possession charges and a three-year sentence for burglary, was booked into the Will County jail on charges of delivery of drugs, drug possession, marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

His bond was set Monday at $150,000.

Gant was arrested on charges of marijuana possession and traffic violations and released on bond.
