Lemont High School sends seven to journalism state finals

LEMONT – Lemont High School junior Kristin Washagan placed fifth in featuring writing as one of seven students from the school competing at the 2014 IHSA Journalism State Finals May 2.

According to a school news release, other participants included: seniors Erin Bendle (Editorial Cartooning), Mandy Gieseler (Yearbook Copy Writing) and Ingrid Lejins (Review Writing); juniors Helen Kollarik (Copy Editing) and Joshua Traynere (Info Graphics); and sophomore Frank Vaughn (Yearbook Layout).

The students qualified for the finals by finishing in the top three in their categories at the IHSA Moraine Valley Sectional.
