York seniors named National Merit Finalists

ELMHURST – The same seven York High School seniors who were named National Merit semifinalists in the fall were recently named finalists.

Matthew Bindeman, Gloria Frank, Joseph Kesslering, Andrew Miranti, Matthew Niewiara, Eric Patterson and Paul Salamanca will all be considered for National Merit Scholarships this year.

Samantha Harrell, another senior, and Niewiara were also named National Merit Motorola Solutions Scholarship winners. Harrell's probable career field is civil engineering, and Niewiara's is agricultural engineering.

The Motorola Solutions Foundation is supported by contributions received from Motorola Solutions, Inc., Chicago.

These and other students will be honored at the Academic/Athletic Awards Night at 7 p.m. May 5 in the York Commons.
