ELMHURST – District 205 recently received the Association of School Business Officials International’s Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting award for the fifth year in a row.

The district was recognized for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ending 2013. The report serves as a link between the accounting data and the District's taxpayers, citizens, legislative bodies, investors and creditors, by assisting them in evaluating the operating results and in assessing the District's ability to meet its obligations, according to a District 205 news release.

The Certificate of Excellence is the highest form of recognition in the area of school district accounting and financial reporting. Recognition through the COE program can help strengthen a district’s presentation for bond issuance statements, stated the release.
