Lyons Township High School newspaper receives golden award

LA GRANGE – Lyons Township High School's student newspaper, the Lion, came home with a Gold Certificate in outstanding journalism, along with multiple individual awards after the Northern Illinois Press Association convention April 25.

During the convention, held at the College of DuPage, the team placed in eight individual contests. Bringing home blue ribbons were Dayna Larson and Elaine Smith in the News category; Claire Quinlan for Features; Gabbie Gresge in the Editorial section; Mia Mologousis and Aly Buffett for Graphics; and the entire Lion staff for the Team In-Depth category.

Honorable mentions were awarded to Katie Grier in the Column category, Steven Campbell in Sports and John Balch in Ad Design.
