I can't believe the La Grange Village Board is again raising our water rate on the heels of a recent hike. And the sewer rate is going up. And there's a new 1 percent tax on food and beverage sales in the village. This is all done to evidently balance the budget. Here's an idea; how about tightening your belt? Rather than again raising rates and raising taxes, make some cuts in the spending. I've done that with no pay hike in seven years. Many people do it. Jim Palermo is the lone trustee to vote against the budget. Kudos to him. He's got my vote from now on.
