Countryside to offer hazardous waste disposal day

COUNTRYSIDE – The city of Countryside is joining together with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency to provide a household hazardous waste collection day.

From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 17 in the parking lot across from City Hall, residents are welcome to drop off oil-based paints, thinners, unwanted prescription medicine, chemical cleaners, antifreeze, motor oil, pesticides and more for disposal.

Items that will not be accepted include controlled substances, explosives, ammunition, propane tanks, tires, business or commercial waste and more.
