Body found along Des Plaines River near Lyons died by own hand

A body found along the Des Plaines River on property under the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago has been ruled a suicide by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, according to an MWRD spokeswoman.

The body was discovered at about 5:30 p.m. April 23 and reported to the Lyons Police Department, who handed the investigation over to investigators for the MWRD.
