St. Joseph’s baseball team lost to Nazareth 9-1 on Friday. Jake Hansen was 2-for-4 with a run scored.
The next day, St. Ignatius beat the Chargers 11-2.
Gino Cavalieri, Kristian Meyer, Bobby Hogan, Kevin Forde and Quinn Snarskis each had two hits in an 8-4 win against Gordon Tech on Saturday.
After beating Morton 11-1 Thursday with a 3-for-3 day from Stefanie D’Anna, the Lions headed to St. Charles East for a tournament over the weekend. LT played five games in two days, tying Maine South (0-0) and Harlem (7-7) and losing to the hosts (9-0), Hoffman Estates (5-3) and St. Ignatius (5-2).
On Thursday, the Bulldogs beat Ridgewood 10-7. Katie O’Connell was 4-for-4 and Lana Herrmann was 2-for-2 with two walks.
A day later, Glenbard South edged RB 4-3 by scoring a run in the bottom of the seventh. Herrmann had a home run and two RBIs.
The Roadrunners split a doubleheader with Joliet Catholic on Saturday, losing 4-2 and winning 11-3. Karah Ritacco had a home run and four RBIs and Katelyn Cahill had three hits in the win.
Facing Shepard on Saturday in its fifth straight road game, Morton's softball team fell against the Astros 9-2.
The Mustangs are scheduled to return to their home field today against Addison Trail and against Thursday against Whitney Young.
After losing against defending state champ Naperville North 3-2 Thursday, the Lions beat Geneva 2-0 Saturday in the Naperville Invitational.
After losing to Glenbard East 2-0 on April 23, the Roadrunners won their final three matches at the Niles West Tournament. They beat the hosts 3-0, Rockford Lutheran 7-0 and Maine West 4-0.
The Friars won a pair of East Suburban Catholic Conference road matches last week. Fenwick topped Marian Catholic 3-0 April 23 and Carmel 1-0 Saturday.
The Lions won the silver bracket of the Mustang Invitational to place ninth out of 24 teams.
The Bulldogs won consecutive matches for just the second time this season by beating Lemont 25-22, 25-18 on April 22 before knocking off Hinsdale South 23-25, 25-21, 25-17 Thursday.
Mike Chaney had eight kills against Lemont and 15 against the Hornets.
The Lions competed against the best teams in the state at Hinsdale Central’s Jay Kramer Invite and tied for sixth out of eight teams.
Riverside Brookfield was fourth out of eight teams at Willowbrook’s District 88 Classic Saturday. Peter Pribyl Pierdinock (No. 1 singles) and Andrew Pilewski (No. 2 singles) placed third.
Colin Fitzpatrick went 3-1 at No. 1 singles but the Friars went 1-3 at the Downers Grove South Invite.
BOYS WATER POLO
The Bulldogs went 3-1 at their own invite Saturday. RB beat Morton 14-10, New Trier JV 15-3 and Hoffman Estates 16-4, and lost to Maine East 8-6.
GIRLS WATER POLO
Okemos (Mich.) beat the Friars 9-6 Friday as part of a tournament at Stevenson. Fenwick bounced back with a 3-0 record Saturday.
LT beat St. Ignatius 9-5 Thursday to pick up its 14th win of the season. Lake Forest beat the Lions 10-4 Saturday.
Palatine beat the Mustangs 9-7 on Saturday.
