WESTMONT – Holy Trinity Catholic School will host its annual Fun Fair from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Westmont Park District.
An annual staple in the Westmont community and the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish for more than 10 years, the fair features carnival games, an obstacle course, a cake walk, children’s activities, concessions sale, music, a dance contest and a raffle.
The event is presented by the school’s parent student organization and all of the proceeds from the Holy Trinity Fun Fair benefit the school. In year’s past, the event proceeds have funded the purchase of textbooks and “smart boards” for the classrooms, according to coordinator Jen Pirog.
“There is always a lot of excitement surrounding the fun fair,” Pirog said. “People know that the money that we raise really benefits the school, so everyone is eager to ban together any do their best to help out.
“The fun fair goes a long way towards raising money for textbooks, technology, and classroom equipment. The funds that we raise here goes directly to the school, so it is a huge help.”
Pirog said the raffle is always a big “money maker” and a main attraction among attendees.
Some of the items that will be raffled off this year include four passes to Disney’s Bahama Bay Resort & Spa, tickets to Sea World, luxury car test-drives, a Samsung Galaxy 3 tablet, an American Girl Doll, a birthday party for 20 people at BIG gymnastics, a Ram Brewery tour for up to 10 guests, fitness club memberships, Chicago White Sox and Fire tickets, hotel stays and several restaurant gift certificates.
Raffle and food ticket will be available during the event and range from 50 cents to $10 each.
Admission to the Holy Trinity is free and all are welcome to attend the event, according to Pirog.
“Above all, this is a really fun event and there is something for the whole family,” she said. “It is a great way to spend a Friday evening and help us raise money for Holy Trinity School.
