North Berwyn Park District announces contenders for Best of Berwyn award

BERWYN – And the winner is ...

The North Berwyn Park District will host the Best of Berwyn Junior Citizen event to recognize the top eighth-grade students May 7 in the city of Berwyn.

Nominees for the 2014 Best of Berwyn Junior Citizen Recognition Program include 24 students who live in Berwyn that are nominated by school and elected officials or recognized community organizations.

The candidates include Alyssa Barrera, Nyxel Camarena, Gabriel Castillo, Isaac Chain, Michael Deguevara, Rowan Ewangan, Natalie Garcia, Alisa Giraldo, Giselle Martinez, Galilea Mendez, Alexis Morales, Quishana Morgan, Nathaniel Ortega, Jada Paul-Emile, Nathaniel Quinn, Pamela Sanchez, Kayli Sayatovic, Joncarlo Soto, Alyssa Sugay, Daniela Vega, Elyssa Villarreal, Miranda Villarreal, Vanessa Villarreal and Sofia Zabawa.

The 2014 Best of Berwyn program ceremony will be held May 7 with an awards dinner at the Skylight West banquet hall. The 2014 winner will be announced at the dinner.

The Best of Berwyn Junior Citizen Recognition Program recognizes outstanding eighth-graders who have made an impact in the Berwyn community. The annual program is sponsored by the North Berwyn Park District.
