La Grange Park to host 23rd annual Run for the Roses

LA GRANGE PARK – Hosted by the Community Park District of La Grange Park, the 23rd annual Run for the Roses 5k run/walk will be May 17.

The adult race will begin at 8 a.m., at 901 Forest Road, followed by a free Fun Run for registered kids.

The festivities will also include a clown, moonwalk and a DJ throughout the event, along with food and drink for all. T-shirts will be distributed to the first 500 registered participants.

Race packets will be available for pre-registered participants from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. May 16 at the Recreation Center, 1501 Barnsdale Road. Packets will also be available at the startting line the morning of.

Fees for runners will be $21 per person before May 15 or $25 after and walkers will be $17 before May 15 or $21 after.

Race day registration – cash or checks only – will be from 6:30 to 7:35 a.m.

Proceeds will benefit the park district's scholarship fund.
