Police: Gurnee 16-year old missing

GURNEE –  The Gurnee Police Department is asking for assistance from the public in locating a missing 16-year-old female.

Samantha Smith was last seen at about 3:15 p.m. Friday, April 11, according to a news release from the Gurnee Police Department. After dismissal from Warren Township High School, she was seen in the area of McClure Avenue, east of O’Plaine getting into a dark colored mid-size car, according to the release.

She was wearing black shorts with white stripes on the legs and a dark blue tank top. Smith is 5’7” and weighs 225 pounds. She has brown hair and blue eyes, according to the release.
