Face Time with Arlene Ludwig

Published: Friday, April 18, 2014 3:34 p.m. CDT

Geneva resident Arlene Ludwig was at the Geneva Public Library for a program when she answered nine questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.

Where did you grow up? Lombard

First job? At Mars Candy Company during the summer when I was in college.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A teacher. When I graduated college for education, there were no teaching jobs, so I became a secretary and administrative assistant.

A movie you’d recommend? “Gravity”

Favorite charity? Any that support Native Americans

What game show would you be on? “Wheel of Fortune”

Favorite local restaurant? Old Towne Pub and Eatery in Geneva

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I saved my friend from being hit by a train. My friend and I got off the train, and we were walking to go home. We could not see another train coming from the other direction because our train was still standing at the platform. She was talking to me and was walking toward the train. I yelled at her and grabbed her and pulled her away from getting hit by that train.

Anything else? I also write poetry.
