ELMHURST – Elmhurst police arrested two brothers during an investigation into the sales of illegal narcotics.
Jonathon M. Mellone, 22, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver and unlawful possesion of a controlled substance April 12 in the 400 block of East May Street, according to a police news release.
His brother Jeffrey T. Mellone, 18, also was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol by a minor.
Police executed a search warrant as part of their investigation, which involved information that people at the residence were involved in drug sales, according to the release.
Officers recovered 43 OxyContin pills, numerous Adderall pills, some of which were crushed for ingestion, about 108 grams of marijuana, and a drug scale along with bags commonly used for drug sales and drug paraphernalia at the home, stated the release.
Both brothers were taken to DuPage County Jail and are scheduled to appear in court May 5.
