Carol Stream, CMAP to host planning meeting

Published: Tuesday, April 22, 2014 2:27 p.m. CST

CAROL STREAM – Carol Stream residents and others invested in the community are invited to attend a public meeting Wednesday to provide feedback as part of the village’s comprehensive planning process.

Carol Stream, in partnership with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, has begun a 14-month process to update the village’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan, according to a Carol Stream newsletter.

The planning process requires the active engagement of residents, businesses and other stakeholders in order to establish goals in areas such as land use, recreation, housing, education, economic development, quality of life, open space and infrastructure.

During the first of several public meetings, village and CMAP staff will outline the process for updating the land-use plan and facilitate a visioning effort with attendees to solicit the feedback needed by the Village Board and staff to guide future land uses and development initiatives.
