Gala supports domestic violence victims

GLEN ELLYN – Fine food, drinks, masks and speed painting were all in abundance during the annual Carnevale gala fundraiser for Family Shelter Service, the Wheaton-based domestic violence support nonprofit.

The April 11 fundraiser at The Abbington in Glen Ellyn raised more than $200,000 in donations, raffle sales and sponsorships to help the nonprofit provide shelter, therapy and other resources to survivors of domestic violence as well as education about the topic.
