Scouts from the Darien area are interviewed by reporter Dan Farnham during their visit to the Suburban Life Media newsroom in Downers Grove Monday Apr. 14.

DARIEN – A group of Tiger Scouts – and one Bear Scout – in Pack 101 in Darien and Pack 10 in Hinsdale visited the Suburban Life Media newsroom Monday.

They were there as part of a requirement to get a communication badge.

The scouts had done several fun activities this year.

Adi Oberai, 7, remembers making a scrapbook.

Emilio Borquez, 7, enjoyed competing in a pinewood derby race, which was won by Martin Fulfs, 6.

"I was jumping up and down (after I won)," Martin said.

Sebastian Borquez, 9, remembers winning the box car derby, though the other scouts remembered differently.

"It's a crazy joy ride," he said.

Owen Cranley, 6, said the group also decorated a tree.

As far as what they like about scouts, Brendan Bergnach, 7, said he likes going to fun places.

Vikram Oberai, 7, said he enjoys getting to learn different things.
