ELMHURST – A team of York High School cooks took first place in a recent round of Kendall College's Ready, Set, Cook competition.

Matt Arnieri and Eric Hoff won first place out of seven team entries at the March 20 mystery basket competition. They had one hour to prepare a whole chicken, broccoli and potatoes in an original dish.

The team presented Mediterranean chicken in a white wine butter sauce with potato and carrot puree, pan roasted broccoli and crispy shallots to the judges.

Arnieri and Ryan Bowman won silver medals at the final round of the Kendall College Ready, Set, Cook competition last year.
