BARRINGTON – The eighth grade girls basketball team at St. Anne Parish School has won the North West Catholic GIrls' Conference championship title. The Cardinals placed first in eighth grade girls silver division of the conference finals.

With a team of only six girls, everyone played hard. The regular season ended with a nine-win record.

The team hit its stride mid-season, winning the Snowball Classic Tournament. In the conference tournament, the players and coaches focused on defense and held the opponents to 28 points while scoring 34 on average, according to an official press release from the school.

Coach Clyde Rundle said the team of all honor roll students is both funny and respectful.

"They represent St. Anne School with a great deal of class," Clyde said. "It was one of the great pleasures of my life to be their coach."
