VILLA PARK – Willowbrook hit 30 home runs last season and is off to a blistering pace that might surpass that number this season.

The Warriors added four more to that total in Wednesday's 12-1 five-inning win against Wheeling. Alyssa Ressinger homered in each of her three trips to the plate. Ressinger's third bomb came after a three-run shot by Sam Schmidt.

"I was even surprised," Ressinger said of her first career three home run game.

Ressinger's big day tied her Schmidt with at four home runs. The Warriors have 11 through six games.

Zoe Dannenberg and Cheyenne Brunig led off the game with doubles and then Schmidt reached on an error. Ressinger then cleared the bases with a three-run homer.

She added another three-run homer in the second. In the third they hit back-to-back shots.

"We have some power hitters," Willowbrook coach Rachel Karos said. "I wouldn't say it's our goal everyday. We're trying to get singles, line drives, all that stuff. Right now we're feeling confident."

Willowbrook is 4-2 and next plays in a doubleheader Saturday against Elmwood Park.
