An Eastern Illinois University student who calls Berwyn her home presented her undergraduate research project during the National Conference on Undergraduate Research from April 3 to 5 in Lexington, Ky.

Yasmine Lozano, a junior, was one of 44 Eastern Illinois students who attended the conference and presented research on a range of topics from mental illness to bioenergetics.

Lozano gave an oral presentation titled, “Interpersonal Communication and the Digital Era.” Her mentor was EIU communication studies professor Rodney Marshall.

The conference also provided an opportunity for students to submit their research topics for publication, and they received input from professors across the country.

It was the seventh year Eastern Illinois University has participated in the conference.
