Published: Tuesday, April 8, 2014 2:37 p.m. CDT

ELMHURST – Boy Scout Troop 17 in Elmhurst will host its third annual "Red, White and Blue Pancake Breakfast" from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Christ United Methodist Church, 920 S. Swain Ave.

The Scouts will serve blueberry and plain pancakes, sausage, fresh strawberries, real whip cream, orange juice, Oberweis milk and Starbuck's coffee.

There will also be a silent auction, with gift certificates and merchandise donated by local businesses.

Funds raised will be used to purchase camping equipment for the troop and to reduce the cost of scouting for the boys.

Tickets purchased at the door cost $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and kids ages 5 to 13, and children under five are free.
