Author Dinae Knox to sign copies of her book in Oak Brook

OAK BROOK – Author Dinae Knox will sign copies of her new book, "Bootstraps Laced with Faith," from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Barnes & Noble, 297 Oakbrook Center.

The La Grange resident is a 14-year veteran of the foster care system in Illinois and the product of teenage, alcohol and drug addicted parents, according to a news release. She is from a single-parent and single-guardian home in a poverty-stricken and gang-dominated community on the westside of Chicago, according to the release.

Her book, "Bootstraps Laced with Faith," is an illustrated and true story of her recovery.

Through this work as well as its companion journal and the author's nonprofit organization, Pro Se Services, Knox encourages children and youth of hardship to chart their own path towards recovery, resiliency and become persons of excellence, read the release.
