Letter: Thank you

To the editor:

I would like to thank the voters of DuPage County for their confidence and trust electing me as their Republican nominee for president of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County in the upcoming November general election. I am humbled by the support I received from voters and forest preserve enthusiasts throughout the county.

Additionally, thank you to all of the dedicated volunteers, committeemen, friends, and supporters for all of the work they did on my behalf and on behalf of other candidates they believe in. No candidate can do it alone. That also extends to their families, who put up with long hours and missed dinners working not only for me, but for all of the candidates they support. The only way we as candidates, and elected officials, can re-pay that debt is to do the job we are hopefully elected to do in November, and do so with honor and distinction.

Campaigning for the Republican nomination over the past year has been a rewarding experience, and meeting constituents all over the county has been a great way to reinforce how much people love our forest preserves and the important role they play in our quality of life. And while it was a long, tough campaign, I commend my opponent for running a clean, ethical race centered on issues and ways to make our Forest Preserve District the best it can be. I look forward to working with her on the board in the years to come.

Sincerely,

Joe Cantore

DuPage Forest Preserve Commissioner, District 2

Candidate for Forest Preserve President
