SUMMIT – Luis Rivera led the Morton baseball team to its first win of the season with a big day on the mound and at the plate.

Rivera struck out 10 batters and didn't allow an earned run in a complete game 9-2 victory at Argo on Wednesday. The junior was also 2-for-4 with a double at the plate.

Senior catcher Nick Campanile led the offensive attack with a 4-for-4 day with two home runs and four RBIs. Oscar Alvarez was 2-for-3.

Morton (1-3) next plays in the first West Suburban Gold series of the season, beginning Saturday against Leyden. The Mustangs will host a doubleheader that day and finish the series off in Northlake on Monday.
