ELMHURST – A Berkeley man is being held on $300,000 bond after allegedly firing a blank gun Saturday outside Fitz's Spare Keys in Elmhurst.

Michael J. Carr, 22, of 5830 St. Charles Road, was charged with armed violence and two counts of aggravated battery at 10:43 p.m. March 29.

"There was a fight, and somebody fired a blank gun on the street," Elmhurst Police Chief Michael Ruth said.

Police responded to a fight outside Fitz's Spare Keys, 119 N. York St., when Carr fired a blank gun, Ruth said.
