Simone Carr set a meet record with her winning time of 57.8 in the 400-meter dash in the DuPage Valley Conference indoor track meet March 20.
The Glenbard North senior also set a school record in the 55 dash with her time of 7.34, which put her in second place.
As a team, the Panthers came in fifth place with 57 points. The 4 x 400 relay placed second in 4:13.46 and the 4 x 200 relay came in third in 1:49.08.
Tasia Collins was the runner-up in the shot put with a mark of 40 feet while Jacqueline Howard and Allison Wahrman finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 200. Wahrman was also third in the triple jump, and Katelyn Murphy was fourth in the long jump.
BOYS INDOOR TRACK
The Panthers scored 13 points to finish in seventh place at the DuPage Valley Conference indoor meet last Friday.
Luke Siperly was fifth in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.22. Vittorio Tricase placed fifth in the long jump with a mark of 20 feet, 1 inch, and Devon Smith came in fifth in the triple jump (41-00).
The 4 x 800 relay team of Joe Campagna, Andrew Krohn, Chris Marshall and CJ Koeller finished fifth. The 4 x 200 grouping of DeShawn Jenkins, Frank Montefalco, Devon Smith and Dennis Jenkins and the 4 x 400 team of Campagna, Dennis Jenkins, Krohn and Siperly also were fifth.
The Glenbard North girls soccer team kicked off the 2014 season in fine fashion, beating Hoffman Estates 3-0 and St. Francis 4-1.
In the win over Hoffman on March 18, Ashley Pogue scored twice and Emily Dybowski had a goal. Megan Michela had a pair of goals against St. Francis March 21, with Pogue and Rachel McDonnell also scoring.
The Panthers began the 2014 season with a pair of victories in Jacksonville last weekend.
The squad beat Ridgewood 9-6 as Alex Barrett went 3-for-4 and Eric Orze added two hits and three RBIs. Gary Santos also walked twice and scored three times.
Chris Ruiz was the winning pitcher, while Tom Potts notched the save.
North then beat Johnsburg 16-0 as Orze allowed just two hits while striking out five in four innings on the mound. Luke Greenberg cranked out a pair of triples in the same inning and knocked in five runs. Chris Murray had two RBIs, and Nolan Jasinski had two runs scored and two RBIs.
The Panthers came in first place at the Addison Trail Invite on Saturday before defeating Glenbard South, Glenbard West and Lake Park in a quad Monday.
