Police reports: Hinsdale, Darien for March 28

Deceptive practice

Counterfeit money was used to buy items between noon and 1 p.m. March 21 at the Hinsdale Fruit Store, 26 W. First St.


Mary Ciancanelli, 64, 3412 Grand Blvd., Brookfield, was charged with theft about 2:55 p.m. Sunday at Whole Foods, 500 E. Ogden Ave. The victim reported losing her purse while shopping at Whole Foods. The suspect, a Whole Foods employee, told the victim she found the purse and returned it. The victim reported money was missing from her purse.

Marijuana possession

Dawn Townsend, 26, 3430 Holiday Drive, Rockford, was charged with possession of marijuana and speeding about 3:53 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of West Ogden Avenue.


Drug equipment possession

A juvenile was cited for possession of drug equipment March 19 at Hinsdale South High School, 7401 Clarendon Hills Road.


• An unattended purse was stolen March 19 from Walmart, 2189 75th St.

• An unattended jacked was stolen March 21 from Brookhaven Market Plaza, 7519 Cass Ave.


• An incident of vandalism involving egging occurred March 21 in the 1300 block of Urban Drive.

• An incident of vandalism involving egging occurred March 21 in the 800 block of High Ridge Court.
