COUNTRY Financial will host Money Smart Kids Read programs to help parents talk to their children about money in a fun and educational way.

The programs, supported by local Money Smart Week partners, will be presented at 10 a.m. Saturday at three DuPage County locations. These include:

• Itasca Community Library, 500 Irving Park Road

• Roselle Public Library District, 40 S. Park St.

• West Chicago Public Library District, 118 W. Washington St.

A fourth program will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Addison Public Library, 4 Friendship Plaza.

The events will include a reading of “Curious George Saves His Pennies.”

Free copies of the book will be given to the first 15 to 25 kids who attend the events. There also will be a “fun with money” activity to accompany the reading.

Last year, nearly 50 events were held throughout Illinois and the St. Louis area, and more than 800 kids and adults participated in a reading of Berenstain Bears’ “Trouble with Money.”
